Powder Room Upgraded
It took a few months and went a little over bodget, but the downstairs
powder room is finally done.
The project started with the replacement of the window on the Canada Day long weekend, and proceeded slowly but steadily to completion. The vanity, which was a real "steal" price at Home Depot last winter, now has a cabinet. The tile backsplash behind it adds a lot to the visual appeal of the room. The medicine cabinet mirror was stripped and stained to match the other dark woods being put in on the ground floor of the house. Otherwise, the fittings were upgraded, and the paint and trim were updated to flow with the rest of the ground floor renovations. We looked all over for a lamp that would work, since it needed to hang from the ceiling and not interfere with the medicine cabinet opening; Rona came to the rescue on that one.
In the end, the project went a little over budget on the choice of tile, but it was worth it for a much-updated and stylish washroom.
